Biography
Sydney is a writer/director who splits her time between her native state of Ohio and her second home of New York City. Her films have screened in festivals around the United States and Canada. As a filmmaker, she explores family dynamics and the delicate relationship between mother and child. Through her practice, she has learned how to blend documentary and narrative elements to find stories and experiences that resonate with audiences. She is inspired by stories of the midwest, history, and nostalgia and aims to do those stories justice. When she is not making films, Sydney teaches college-level film courses in Ohio and the East Coast.
